As parents, our highest hope for our children is for them to become God’s children by believing the gospel and placing their trust and allegiance in Jesus Christ. As pastors, our highest hope is the building up, strengthening, and multiplying of God’s church in the gospel.

These two hopes come together in our care for the children of Covenant. In everything we do, we want to point our children to the gospel -- whether with us they are worshipping with us on Sunday, or eating dinner with friends at missional community, or serving Pearland at a park or nursing home. We believe the best way to share Christ with our children is to talk about him in the everyday as we live out His mission to the world -- when we sit in our houses, and when we walk by the way, and when we lie down, and when we rise (Deuteronomy 6:7).

As a church, we include children in our life in a number of ways.

Children ages 0-9 participate in Covenant Kids on Sundays during the worship service.

Through activities, story-time, song and play, our children learn the story of God. They are sent home with resources to support parents in teaching their children the gospel. We use The Gospel Project curriculum, which has additional resources online, including iPhone and iPad apps. Many parents are nervous about introducing their small children into a new environment. We love you and your children, and we want to help. If you'd like to learn ways you can prepare your children for class, contact us using the link below.

Children ages 10 and up join us each week in the worship service.

Using the Covenant Kids Worship Guide, our children participate in the weekly service. Parents work together to build community between the kids and teach them to learn to listen for who God is, what He has done, who we are in Christ, and what we are to do. We understand that this will be new to many parents. For help preparing your family for Sundays, we can connect you with a parent for help.

All children participate in missional community life.

If our gospel is only relevant to us on Sundays, our children will not be changed. At Covenant, children are an integral part of missional community life. Even the most shy kids look forward to playing with their friends on Missional Community night. And as our families live life together, encouraging one another and working together to share Christ with the city, our children see God at work.
